Emily and Sahil were married at Brympton House in Summer 2025, in a multi-day celebration that spanned three days of gorgeous fun. I was their wedding celebrant for their traditional ceremony. They had already signed their legal documents, and in the late afternoon, also had a stunning Hindu ceremony under the mandap in Brympton’s walled garden. In one of the biggest honours of my celebrant career so far, I got to tell their love story to their friends and family, some of which had travelled thousands of miles to be there.

A brympton house wedding celebrant
I was invited to be the wedding celebrant for Sahil and Emily by their wedding planner, Emily of ILY Weddings, who has a strong connection with Brympton House and created the multi-day plan and coordination for the couple. As I arrived, guests were gathering and enjoying welcome drinks, checking into their accommodation and excitedly looking around gorgeous Brympton which is a true Somerset gem. On what was one of the loveliest summer days of the year, the ceremony took place in the cool calmness of Castle House, built in 1350, bathed in natural light and brought to glory by the unbelievably beautiful florals created by Brympton Styling.

Sahil is the kind of man you just want to be around, he’s got warmth, high-grade humour and is utterly charming. Emily is brilliant, witty, beautiful and her energy is also infectious. It’s really quite easy to see why they are perfect for each other, but their story begins with Sahil firmly in the friend zone. After getting to know them, I realised there was only one way to tell their story. Sahil is a huge fan of epic stories throughout literary and science fiction history, and his quest to make Emily realise he was the man for her became the theme.

This was such a romantic, gently amusing ceremony. With a packed house of family and friends from different cultures all gathered together, Emily and Sahil wanted authenticity coupled with traditional wedding elements; a ring exchange and their own personal vows, which they completely nailed. The bride and groom sat together for the majority of the ceremony, mostly sharing adoring glances as well as a lot of laughter. When we introduced them as husband and wife, there was the biggest, most joyous cheer!

what i loved about this wedding ceremony
- The excitement! The approach to Brympton from where you park your car really leaves you knowing you’re in for a visual and stylistic treat, it’s so grand and sophisticated from the moment you arrive. Once you step inside, you know you’re at a special wedding.
- The wonder. It’s hard to put into words, but all day, I got the sense that Sahil and Emily were both in awe of each other, and absolutely confident in their life’s path together. It gave the wedding such a beautifully relaxed tone.
- Emily’s dress was classic elegance, a beautiful shape and had a serene neckline which suited her perfectly. Sahil’s traditional morning suit was also exquisite.
- The trust they both gave me. They made themselves so available, were very open, and put a lot of time and effort into telling me their story, which in turn made the ceremony an absolute peach to write, and very entertaining to give. I simply loved it.

What they loved about their ceremony
Thank you Emily for this review – I think it says more about how brilliant you are than me!
“In short: Eleanor is an icon and a legend! We personally guarantee you will not regret choosing her as your celebrant!!
In long: We feel so glad and lucky that we chose Eleanor to be our celebrant. Not just because of how she made the ceremony so engaging, fun, and personal, but also because of how she really made the effort to get to know us and was super helpful and caring along the journey up to the day.
From the first chat we had with Eleanor, we knew we had found someone truly special. She is such a caring person who really makes an effort to get to know you as a couple and wants to do justice to your story. And wow does she succeed! We were actually a little shocked that someone could get to know us on such a personal level so quickly!
As well as this, she was constantly available literally night and day to offer advice and support on any queries we had. What was particularly touching was how Eleanor was proactive in finding out if any of our guests had specific needs or considerations that she should be aware of. She wants everyone to have the best experience, and the thoughtfulness was really appreciated.
As for the day itself – so many people came up to us after to say how fantastic and personal and fun Eleanor made the ceremony. ‘The celebrant is a legend’ was said multiple times. And we couldn’t agree more!! Eleanor – thank you so much for everything, choosing you was the best decision we made for the day!”
