Amber & Craig were married at the iconic Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin hotel in early Autumn. As soon as I met them, I wanted to make their wedding ceremony match their exact blend of personalities. The process of creating your wedding ceremony with me is designed to be enjoyable, but also a little bit emotional, and I feel it gives people room to expand on the definitions and boundaries of their love for each other and how it works. Amber and Craig really typified that, and I was really proud to stand up and represent their story on that lovely, candlelit afternoon. We wanted it calm, chic but cheeky, romantic and crisply done with humour. I think we got it just right.
We wanted to include reference to all the love in their lives, most notably for their gorgeous little boy, and for Amber’s twin sister, as well as the rest of their families. So we celebrated their origins, the huge distance in terms of life travelled, careers forged and the discoveries of parenthood. But we also spent time on the versions of Amber and Craig that came before – as children and teens, and how grateful they are for the love their families gave them, and how it shaped them.
Other than the breathtaking Amber in one of my favourite dresses of last year, my favourite memory of the wedding ceremony was how the room felt. Peaceful, connected, warmth without heat, love without pressure. Everything was just the right side of mellow. I read Dust by Harry Baker to celebrate the ironic gap between their joint love of quiet family times amongst the madness of toddler parenting, and the fact that Craig is, let’s say, a fan of cleaning. Their vows were exquisite, perfectly delivered and I watched all their nerves melt away and the excitement of it all rush in.
There were large nods towards Scotland, not least with Craig’s tartan, the bagpipe player, and a lot of football related memories. And all the while, their beautiful boy sat so calmly watching on, on various laps, enjoying the gathering. The wind and confetti swirled together outside, and the party began effortlessly. I absolutely loved the autumnal styling, the mirrors, candles and golden colours, it really added to the serenity of it all.
Afterwards, Amber said;
We were lucky enough to have the wonderful Eleanor as our celebrant at our wedding a couple of weeks ago, from the beginning she took the time to get to know us as a couple and as a result created a ceremony that felt so personal and special, every word was so “us”.
On the day I felt so calm and reassured knowing it was Eleanor I would see at the end of the aisle! 🤍 so many of my guests commented on how meaningful and engaging the ceremony was- it truly set the tone of the day,
If you’re looking for someone to tell your story in a warm, funny, loving way, that you’ll forever remember, Eleanor is your lady, I genuinely cannot recommend her enough!!
