Jess and Luke’s wedding day at Priston Mill was everything you’d want your love story to signify. It was so tender, so romantic, so full of love. We had so much fun planning it and even more fun during the ceremony itself. They are two people I know will be very, very happy together for the rest of their lives.
Jess and Luke met at work and have been inseparable ever since. They love to walk, so we met first for brunch and then for a long walk with Mack in the Mendips where we were supposed to talk about the ceremony but basically just laughed our way up and down hills discussing things like 90s soap operas and work bake-offs. Writing the ceremony for them was a joy. They knew they wanted many romantic elements, such as rings, personalised vows and a walk down the aisle for Jess and her lovely dad. But, they also wanted to have as much fun as possible. I took this as a challenge.
Firstly – Jess was THE most beautiful, graceful, glowing bride. I mean, look at her! No wonder Luke and I both were a bit wobbly when she came flowing down the aisle.
Surprises for everybody
We hid the wedding rings under guest chairs, so that there would be two surprise ring bearers (who were brilliant). But we spiced it up further by hiding other ring-like objects; onion rings, party rings, fake bling rings, as well. So some people also got a wedding snack. It was so fun watching people find out what they’d received.
THE CAT VOWS
You can read how Leia, their queen of a cat, made her presence felt at the wedding ceremony, here, where we talk about cats at weddings. But in short, the wonderful Rosie stepped up, donned a mask of Leia’s face, and demanded a full set of vows from the couple, just to her. This was a total surprise for Luke and Jess and they took it like champs.
what i loved about this wedding
I will treasure the memories of this day for a long long time, and am very pleased to hear that Leia has since gained a tiny kitten friend to rule over too. Theirs is a happy house. Thank you Jess and Luke for choosing me.
